Poppy Bride of Alaska American MailOrder Brides Series edition by Cassie Hayes American MailOrder Brides Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Poppy and Matthew enter marriage as a means to an end, but they will eventually see the truth. A very good story. I couldn't put it down till it was finished.
What a great story.great read a lone or in the series. I love how it all came together in the end.I read this first as I moved to Alaska 5 years ago.I loved the ending.the the best. I recommend this to everyone who likes romance and mail order bride books.
This is the first book I read in the American Mail-Order Bride Series. I am enjoying this series very much. The books are short and all begin with the same inciting incident although each mail order bride goes to a different state. This book has interesting characters and storyline. I particularly loved an unexpected plot twist in the story. Good read--definitely recommend!
Well written, with a strong heroine who the reader has the pleasure of watching her grow and transform into the person she was meant to be. The hero, Matthew must face a tough reality and make hard decisions. Together they are a couple that opens their hearts to love and new possibilities. Great lesson in the need to forgive! Thank you Cassie Hayes for a great read
I have read several books from this series. I hope one of the writer's will follow through on whether the man who allegedly burned his business down, really did. In this book, we find a very poor girl named Poppy, who trusts no man. She answers an ad asking for a bride "in name only", to a man named Matthew, who happens to hail from a wealthy family. They meet and marry, heading to Alaska for different reasons.
Sound intriguing? It is! Enjoy and be Blessed! 😂
This is a must read book. It's poppy and Matthews love story as they go to Alaska for different reasons ,Matthew seeking vengeance Poppy has longed to be in Alaska . Together they make their lives and become friends, Each hoping for more until Matthew received a letter saying his father is dead and he must return to Boston to take over the family business. Will he go alone or take Cassie ? As Cassie reads his farewell letter she crumbles. Any other details might ruin the book so you will have to run it to see what happens.
Cassie Hayes' mail order bride book, set in Alaska was a joy to read! The characters were well-defined and nicely drawn. You had to empathize with both Poppy and Matthew for their past trials and see what good people they were to overcome their past sorrows. And I enjoyed the secondary characters as well, who were all complex and interesting with their own stories. The setting was an added to bonus to this book. The author obviously researched late nineteenth century Alaska extensively and gave us a striking visual picture of the territory at that time. And I especially liked her insight into the native American population of the area in Alaska where the story is set. If you want to read and interesting and romantic mail order bride book, "Poppy" is for you.
